"The food has been always excellent, but now the place is beautiful as well” I hadn't been in a coupla years, and back then Intermezzo was busy, loud, great "buzz", fun. terrific food. Just recently, on a slow evening after the New Years, I went again, and found that the place has moved upscale in looks and atmosphere and service, and yet retained the excellent food. There was professional and attentive service from the staff and maite d. Some really good and tasteful interior designer seems to have been at work, with a result that is not either stark barren or fussy or pretentious or gimmicky, as you find in so many places, but just relaxing and lovely to look at. The phrase "relaxed elegance" comes to mind. An altogether favorable improvement from what was already excellence before.

I went to lunch at Intermezzo, and found a restaurant that I will be going to with some regularity. The food was good and the service was friendly and very efficient. I plan to take my wife there for dinner next week. It's a neighborhood gem.

A Charming, Romantic Little Eatery A lovely little eatery in Chelsea that will leave foodies satisfied. Ambiance is quite charming -- very romantic and tables not overly close together like some NYC restaurants. Food was prepared to perfection, from the Caesar Salad to the four-cheese Rigatoni dish. Overall, a very good place to go for a romantic dinner for two. Special Features: fit for foodies, neighborhood gem, notable wine list, romantic

Another Gem in Chelsea. Usually eat dinner here, but recently had Brunch and ordered the chicken sandwich, absolutely amazing.

"great brunch" Stopped in for a light bite and a drink while waiting for friends. Their bread was phenomenal, and they make proper mimosas, and a mean bloody Mary. Brunch looked great, but we stayed with bread (delicious italian and focaccia) and home fries (which were hash brown potatoes.)

Our waitress and the service staff were excellent throughout the evening. Completely professional, and also fun. The food was very good; though the soup was served much too hot to eat. But there was a lot of it, so it was worth having more wine while it cooled off. The focaccia bread basket was phenomenally delicious and moist! It was not crowded -- so might be off scene, but it was a pleasure to hear yourself talk. The space is lovely, but needs something...just a little touch of color. A bit beige. For the price, and the good food and friendly attention, it was well worth an evening after a hard day at work. Special Features: good for groups, romantic

Intermezzo has always been one of my favorites. Most recently it has become my top choice because of the new management that has taken over. I ended up going tonight with some friends for dinner. I walked in and saw the new manager, he introduced himself, his name is Benny. He looks like he cares a lot for the customers, I saw how he was acting towards other customers too in a welcoming way. I was so happy, because I love this place. This is the best place in Chelsea and Sunday Brunch is unbelievable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a special night out or just to grab some great affordable Italian food. This place is certainly a neighborhood gem that always keeps me coming back and will continue to be one of my favorites Special Features: vibrant bar scene, good for groups, great for brunch, late-night find, neighborhood gem, notable wine list, romantic, special occasion, great for lunch, hot spot

Wonderful neighborhood Italian. The food is reliably good and the prices are moderate. They also have good lunch and early dinner prix fixe menus available, which are great deals. They seem to have a quiet dining time early in the evening which we like. Special Features: vibrant bar scene, good for groups, great for brunch, neighborhood gem, great for lunch

11/20/2011: We were glad we had dinner here, the food was very good. We used to come here often but stopped because of the loud music that we did not enjoy. The food remains good. Special Features: vibrant bar scene, neighborhood gem, great for lunch
